With leisure in mind, equipped with the design concept of ‘A Celebration Of Water’ and inspired by the surrounding nature, this modern public park is created to serve the local residents of Laguna Park and attract visitors from afar. The concept of water is translated into the hardscape elements by reflecting the symbolic pattern of waves and incorporating ship elements to show the glorious relationship of people and
water.
Surrounded by both natural mangrove and newly planted trees, the park offers different functional spaces for relaxation, recreation and socializing. The building of the boardwalk in the mangrove area provides the opportunity for visitors to get closer to nature while enjoying other activities such as fishing.
In addition, curvilinear walkway/jogging track is built along the bund, complimented by lightweight structures for a seating wall, benches and shelters to enhance the aesthetic view without compromising the function of the existing 1.3km bund, construed to prevent water flooding from the nearby Selat Lumut.
